Code: 124SDP3 Structural Design Project 3
Lecturer: Ing. Tomáš Vlach Ph.D. Weekly load: 4C Completion: GA
Department: 11124 Credits: 5 Semester: W
Description:
Complex approach to practice design, analysis and optimalization of advanced multistorey or longspan building structures, or their reconstruction, with a subsequent focus on a specific part of the building, construction. General analysis of load, functional and technologic requirements, design of basic load-bearing system with preliminary bearing elements dimensions calculation, choice of most suitable version. Closer focus on the problematic and difficult part of the construction. Construction details, detailed analysis from the point of view of building physics - conducted heat and humidity, detailed static action of selected construction detail, numerical modeling, according to the student's preferences and focus.
Seminar contents:
1. Choice of suitable building (architectural study, papers and figures presented in civil engineering and architectural journals etc.), analysis of building and boundary conditions, identification of problematic details. Identification of interesting and problematic part of the building.
2. - 3. Preliminary fast design of suitable structural system. Description of load-bearing structure materials.
4. ? 6. Working basic design drawings, calculations, and basic reports for each specialization (Building Structures, Statics, Building Services, Geotechnics), continuous optimalization of load-bearing structure, selection of most interesting and problematic construction details.
9. ? 12. Closer focus on the problematic and difficult part of the construction. Construction details, detailed analysis from the point of view of building physics - conducted heat and humidity, detailed static action of selected construction detail, numerical modeling.
13. ? 14. Consultations, project finalization, submission.
